Tips for Honey Glazed Ham

When making either of the honey glazes above, consider the following tips:

  • Don't skip the broiling; broiling is what caramelizes the glaze and causes it to form a crust on the ham.
  • When you broil, watch carefully because you don't want the glaze to burn.
  • Bring leftover glaze to a boil and allow it to boil for 3 minutes, stirring. Serve on the side for people to spoon over their ham.

Serving Your Honey Baked Ham

Let your ham sit for a few minutes after cooking to help the juices properly distribute. Slice around the bone to free it, and then divide your ham into three sections: one horizontally above the bone and two below it, one to each side. Serve your honey baked ham with scalloped potatoes, green beans, and fresh rolls for a meal so delicious, there won't be any leftover ham.
